The following are signs that there is a virus on a computer:


  • An application starts to unexpectedly crash
  • The computer is running really slow
  • Strange messages saying that a drive can not be accessed. Certain files may not be able to be opened.
  • Printer is not responding
  • Fluctuating file size
  • The appearance of web pages and/or menus is different and odd
  • You get redirected to some place different on the internet

How to prevent viruses:

  • Make sure a good anti-virus program is installed on your computer
  • Run a virus scanner once a month
